Hey there all you Node.js lovers. I want to show you a new open source project that makes it a little easier to run replicate models. So I've created a new project called create replicate app. 

And the way you use this is you go to your terminal, you type npx create.

Replicate app give it a name like Fu. And this will generate a scaffolded project for you and set up package Json and install the replicate dependency and tell you what to run next. So now I can type CD Fu and npm start. And as a throwback to the original nodejs logo.

We're asking sdxl here to generate a retro comic book rendering of a turtle with a rocket strap to its back. So let's see what we get. I don't see a rocket but it's a start. You get the idea. 

So let's take a look at what actually happened here. So if we opened up our code.

We see we have in our Fu project. We have kind of the scaffolding that's necessary to run this. So we've got a package.json. It's got the one dependency which is the replicate package. Um and then we've got some starter code in here to actually use the replicate API.

So let's take a look at this. Uh, it's pretty simple. We import the replicate package. We initialize it with the replicate API token. So once that is set, then you're authenticated. 

And now you can specify a model to run and the inputs that you want to pass to the model.

Then you run the model. So this is the very first incarnation of this project. Uh, it is open source. I imagine all kinds of interesting things we could do with this so that we can show how to run models other than sdxl. You could imagine a version of this where you could.

Do something like npx create replicate app uh my llama app. And then you know model equals meta code llama 70b instruct web hooks equals yes something like this. I don't know this. We'll have to figure this out. But um this is kind of the the the basic starting point for.

Us making it uh easier to stand up nodejs applications to run the replicate API easily. Hope this is useful. Thanks for watching. Bye-bye.
